WELCOME!

Since Independence only one Dental College is running at Siliguri under North Bengal Medical College with a few seats which are insufficient to fulfill the demand and requirement of the people of this locality but it is a matter of great regret that no step has yet been taken by the State Govt./Central Govt. to setup additional Dental College to meet up the crying demand of the people. With a noble view in mind a Trust has been formed in the name of - “Balurghat College for Medical, Science & Technology ” in the year 2009 and was also registered under Indian Trust Act. 1882. Balurghat desires, as its mission towards social justice and welfare, to set up a Nursing Training Institute along with Dental College at Chak Sridhar, P.O.+P.S. Balurghat to provide nursing training under the courses namely G.N.M. & B.Sc. Nursing to the unemployed Girls and women.

ABOUT US

The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future life." A good degree course module recognizes the wisdom in what was stated by the great philosopher hundreds of years ago!

Dentists are doing a great job today. Right from fulfilling the basic needs of restoration and prosthesis of common man, they are designing smiles of models, actors and others who want to enhance their confidence. They are doing well both in the public and the private sector. But with time their number is increasing and so is the competition amongst them. Moreover, there is a very few number of seats for further specialization. There is now a dire need of these professionals to explore new areas and widen their scope of employment.

Dentistry in India is no more constrained to plucking out decayed tooth or filling up discolored teeth. There is an increasing curiosity among the youth, particularly girls to take up dentistry as a chosen area of profession. Policy makers are either unaware or not interested in the lack of adequate opportunities for the graduates that roll out of dental colleges. Since many of these trained hands are either deprived of opportunities or severely underpaid, they cease to work or switch to various other professions.
